I just spent the last half hour being incredibly frustrated with my Organization of Information text

because all of this encoding stuff is crazy, and supposedly it’s just supposed to be an introduction, but good lord ALL of the vocabulary and acronyms and encoding that I don’t get.

Then I opened my MARC21 for Everyone book and smiled because here is one of the first things I read

a MARC record, a marvelous invention, simply packed with information for people and automated systems. 

Now, it may not be the most exciting thing, but at least the author sounds excited. This is not dry and text and vocabulary heavy to the point where I don’t know if I even understand what I’m reading. This is enjoyable.
